2 D Art

Creative 2D projects from study and leisure

From character design and concept art to UI design and 2D animation, on this page you will find a selection of my work from my studies and private projects. My focus is on developing visual concepts for games. This process creates illustrations, characters, user interfaces and animations that tell stories and bring game worlds to life.

I work digitally and support projects from the initial idea to the final implementation. In doing so, I combine design fundamentals with experience from game design and game development.

Kara – Character Design

Kara was created as part of the Advanced Concept Art course. The aim of the project was to develop an independent character with a clear visual identity and recognition value.

The focus was on developing personality, clothing, silhouette and details to create a character suitable for comics, games or other narrative media, for example. From initial idea sketches to the final design, the design was gradually further developed and refined.

Melody of Swords – Character Design

For the VR game Melody of Swords I developed the concept of a sword-fighting opponent. The character design is based on historical influences of the Picts and combines them with shamanic elements to create a mysterious yet threatening character.

Are You Sure? – Concept Art

For my serious game Are you sure? I developed various concept arts to define atmosphere, color scheme and environment in an early project phase. The illustrations served as the basis for the later visual style of the game and helped to specifically emphasize the emotional impact of each scene.

Are You Sure? – Title Screen & Logo

For my prototype Are you sure? I also created a logo, as well as the entire title screen. It was important to me that it take on the character of a daily book or sketchbook. Since this is a sensitive topic, the art style should also appear personal and sensitive.

Nassau – Title screen and logo

For the game concept I designed the main menu and the game logo for Nassau. What makes this UI concept special is the dynamic display of the game world: As the game progresses, the view in the main menu also changes.

While initially there is only one bottle in the sand, the place evolves into a vibrant port city as the game progresses. This makes the game progress visually tangible in the menu.

Her Little Mind – Title screen and logo

For the Serious Game Her Little Mind I developed the logo and the title screen. The hand-drawn design incorporates the game's artistic style and conveys the emotional atmosphere of the story right from the main menu.

Through color choices, typography and illustration, a coherent introduction to the protagonist's world of thought is created.

Artwork quicks – illustration

As part of my studies, I participated in the student project Artwork-Wichteln. Similar to classic Secret Santa, each participating person received a randomly drawn wish motif.

My Secret Santa wanted the combination of hat, ship, and rainbow. This resulted in a free illustration in which I was able to combine different design ideas and develop a creative image composition.

Fox Walk Cycle – 2D Animation

This animation was created as an exercise in the 2D Animation seminar. The goal was to develop a natural movement sequence, implementing weight, timing, and fluid transitions between the individual poses.

Girl with Foxes – Animated Splash Art

This short animation shows a sleeping girl in the company of two foxes. Small movements such as gentle breaths, waving fur or flying fireflies add extra life to the illustration and create a calm, cozy atmosphere.

My focus

My focus is on developing visual content for games. I am particularly interested in character design, concept art, UI design and digital illustration. I place great importance on ensuring that every design is not only aesthetically convincing, but also supports the story, gameplay mechanics and atmosphere of a project.

Each project expands my design skills and helps to continuously develop my own style.

My prototypes

During my time at university, I created several prototypes with different focuses.
